Testing is underway on vaccines to intercept brewing colon cancer before it takes root

Scientists are developing vaccines that aim to intercept brewing colon cancer caused by faulty genes, such as those associated with Lynch syndrome. At least three potential Lynch syndrome vaccines are currently in development, including two undergoing early clinical trials in the U.S. and a third beginning in Britain. If successful, this research holds promise for reducing the need for yearly colonoscopies for carriers.
