Testing is underway on vaccines to intercept brewing colon cancer before it takes root

A new vaccine is being tested by Dr. Stacy Norton for Lynch syndrome, a faulty gene that significantly increases the risk of colorectal cancer and other cancers. Scientists are developing these vaccines to teach the immune system how to intercept brewing colon cancer before it develops into a full-fledged tumor. At least three potential Lynch syndrome vaccines are currently in development, with trials ongoing in both the U.S. and Britain.
