Israeli prosecutors charge a settler for killing Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in West Bank

Israeli prosecutors charged settler Yinon Levi with reckless manslaughter, armed trespassing, and malicious property damage related to the death of Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in July 2025. The indictment was filed in district court in the occupied West Bank, which B’Tselem called an extremely rare charge for Israel. Witnesses noted that video footage showed Levi shooting at crowds of Palestinians near where Hathaleen was located.
