Israeli prosecutors charge a settler for killing Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in West Bank

Israeli prosecutors charged settler Yinon Levi with reckless manslaughter in connection with the death of Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen in July 2025. The indictment, filed in district court, also charges Levi with armed trespassing and malicious property damage. Rights group B’Tselem noted that these charges mark a rare instance of an Israeli being indicted for a Palestinian's death in the West Bank since Oct. 7, 2023.
