Kara­koram Highway closed, Ghizer worst hit by more flash floods

Flash floods caused by cloudbursts and glacial melting in Gilgit-Baltistan damaged infrastructure, stranded residents and tourists, and blocked the Karakoram Highway. Ghizer district was severely affected by an artificial lake formed after floods in Mayon village, inundating homes and roads. Authorities mobilized rescue operations as rising river levels threatened downstream areas.
