LA County Fire Department: SoCal Edison Electrical Tower Sparked Deadly Eaton Fire

The Los Angeles County Fire Department concluded that electrical arcing on a Southern California Edison transmission tower caused the January 2025 Eaton Fire. The fire killed at least 19 people in the Altadena area, destroyed 9,000 structures, and burned over 14,000 acres, with SCE power lines previously suspected as the source and lawsuits already filed against the utility.
