Chinese observatory finds most powerful particle accelerator in the universe
A China-led team detected the highest-energy light particle ever recorded, originating from the Cygnus X-3 binary system in the constellation Cygnus. The particle, accelerated by a dead star stripping material from a companion and emitting jets, traveled 30,000 years to reach Earth in March 2024.
