China fires up powerful particle accelerator to unlock secrets of atoms
China has launched a powerful particle accelerator capable of producing the world’s most intense beams of charged atoms, aiding research on new atomic nuclei and applications in cancer treatment and spacecraft materials. The 2.6 billion yuan facility in Huizhou, Guangdong province, began operations after construction completion.
