Immigrant being held at Delaney Hall dies, marking 22nd death in ICE custody
Edwin Lopez-Cornejo, 41, an immigrant from El Salvador who arrived in the US in 2006, died in ICE custody at Delaney Hall detention facility in New Jersey on August 1 after a medical emergency. This marks the 22nd death in ICE custody this year, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
