Vance Boelter makes first state appearance after federal sentencing for Minnesota lawmaker shootings

Vance Boelter appeared in state court for the first time after being sentenced to two life terms plus 40 years in federal court for killing Minnesota Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, and attempting to kill others. He faces state charges including two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted murder, and animal cruelty for shooting the Hortmans’ dog.
