Mexico partners with Viasat to expand internet access in rural areas
Mexico’s Telecommunications Investment Promotion Agency (Promtel) and Viasat have formed an alliance to expand broadband access in rural areas through satellite capacity, technical collaboration, and support for smaller operators. The partnership aims to address the 24% of Mexico’s population without internet access and aligns with Promtel’s National Strategy for Small Operators, with the agreement valid until 2030.
