Mexico in Numbers: Internet use hits record high, but rural gap persists
Internet use in Mexico reached 86.1% of the population aged 6 and above in 2025, with urban areas at 88.9% and rural areas at 75.2%. Nuevo León had the highest internet usage at 93.9%, while Chiapas had the lowest at 71.2%. The urban/rural gap narrowed from 27 points in 2020 to 13.7 points in 2025.
