STAT+: BioNTech names Guido Oelkers its new CEO
BioNTech appointed Guido Oelkers as its new CEO, replacing Ugur Sahin. Oelkers, a biopharma industry veteran, will lead the company's shift toward oncology and aim for multiple approved medicines by 2030. Sahin and cofounder Özlem Türeci are leaving to launch a new biotech focused on mRNA medicines.
