Nauru, the world’s 3rd-smallest country, changes its name to Naoero

Nauru, the world’s third-smallest country, has changed its name to the Republic of Naoero to align with its national language's spelling and pronunciation. The international code will shift from NRU to NRO, and residents will now be called dei-Naoero. President David Adeang stated the change aims to honor the nation’s heritage and identity, following parliamentary approval and eliminating the need for a referendum.
