Trailblazing former Republican Rep Kay Granger dies at 83: 'Broke barriers'

Kay Granger, a Republican representative from Texas, died at 83. She was the first woman elected mayor of Fort Worth, the first Republican woman from Texas in the U.S. House, and the first female Republican appropriations chair. Granger served in Congress since 1997 and retired in 2023.
