After a young girl’s death, Mexico shuts down all militarized grade schools
Mexico's Education Ministry ordered the closure of all militarized grade schools by August 31 following the death of 13-year-old Dafne Zapata at a military academy in Tamaulipas. The shutdown includes reimbursement for educational services and a review of 31 military-style academies after an autopsy revealed her death involved drowning and signs of abuse.
