Housing advocates sued over local duplex bans after the LA fires. Now, two cities are backing down
Two Southern California cities, Malibu and Pasadena, will allow duplex projects to proceed after settling a lawsuit challenging local bans on Senate Bill 9 (SB 9) in high fire risk zones. The cities agreed to repeal ordinances blocking SB 9 by the end of September and process pending applications.
