Justice Dept. admits Reflecting Pool renovation was flawed, drops case against former Olympian

The Justice Department admitted the $14 million renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was flawed and dropped a criminal case against David Hearn, a former Olympian accused of damaging the pool. The case was dismissed after documents revealed the damage resulted from flawed installation by Atlantic Industrial Coatings and a rushed project timeline for the America 250 celebration in 2026.
