Chile Unemployment Stays at 9.4% as Industry Rebounds

Chile's unemployment rate remained at 9.4% in the April-June 2026 quarter, marking a 0.5 percentage point annual increase and the highest level in nearly five years. The labor force grew 1.5%, but employment rose only 0.9%, leading to a 7.7% rise in unemployed individuals. Informality in the workforce also surged during the period.
