Permanent closure moves closer at LAlumina

The Ascension Parish Government has completed interim closure work at the former LAlumina site, transitioning it to long-term closure under Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) oversight. The effort aimed to mitigate red dust emissions from waste ponds near residential areas, with LAlumina set to implement a permanent plan.
