Wildfire burning in South Bay spreads to 283 acres

A wildfire burning in the South Bay, known as the Mines Fire, has spread to 283 acres as of Monday evening. The fire, which started in Santa Clara County on Sunday afternoon, initially grew to 132 acres before Cal Fire officials reported forward progress had stopped on Sunday evening.
