South Carolina special election post-Lindsey Graham’s death: What to know & who can vote

South Carolina will hold a special Republican primary on August 11 to select a candidate for the November general election following the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham. Graham’s sister Darline Graham was appointed to serve the remainder of his Senate term through January 2027. Republican candidates are eligible to run, with the winner facing Democratic candidate Annie Andrews in November 2026.
