States move to limit classroom screen time

Four U.S. states—Iowa, Utah, Tennessee, and Alabama—have passed laws to restrict or regulate screen time for students in early education, with policies including daily digital instruction caps and age-appropriate device guidelines. Meanwhile, similar legislation in Missouri and Oklahoma failed, citing concerns over administrative burdens and workforce readiness. Some school districts, like Los Angeles Unified, have also implemented grade-specific screen time limits.
