Pennsylvania ACA health insurers propose double-digit premium increases for 2027

Pennsylvania health insurers on the ACA marketplace Pennie are requesting average premium increases of 10.5% to 41% for 2027 coverage. The Pennsylvania Insurance Department released these rate requests, with a public comment period open until Aug. 22. Rising healthcare costs and expired federal tax credits are cited as reasons, with some residents paying over $1,000 monthly and 177,000 canceling their ACA plans.
