Ford to partner with Chinese automaker Geely in Spain in new joint venture

Ford and Chinese automaker Geely announced a joint venture to manufacture low- and zero-emission vehicles at Ford’s Valencia, Spain factory. The partnership, pending regulatory approval, will focus on five vehicles, including the Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid, a new Bronco SUV, and two Geely electric SUVs, starting production in 2028. Ford and Geely aim to compete with Chinese automakers dominating global markets while addressing challenges in the U.S. electric vehicle sector and geopolitical tensions.
