Number of women seeking a governor’s seat hits an all-time high

A record 85 women are running for governor across 36 states, with 580 women also seeking U.S. House seats, nearing a previous record. The Center for American Women and Politics reports increased female candidates for public office despite stalled progress toward gender parity in recent cycles.
