Louisiana Rep. Cleo Fields won't seek reelection after Democrat's seat was redrawn

Louisiana Rep. Cleo Fields announced he will not seek reelection after his congressional district was redrawn by the state legislature following a Supreme Court ruling that deemed the original district an unconstitutional gerrymander based on race. The new district, which clusters around predominantly white communities, prompted Fields to shift his focus to seeking a state Senate seat instead.
