Louisiana Rep. Cleo Fields won’t seek reelection after Democrat’s seat was redrawn

Democratic U.S. Rep. Cleo Fields announced he will not seek reelection to his redrawn Louisiana congressional district following a Supreme Court ruling that deemed the district an unconstitutional gerrymander based on race. Fields, a longtime Louisiana politician, plans to pursue a state Senate seat instead.
