Tropical Storm Bertha slowly gaining strength
Tropical Storm Bertha, the second-named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, is threatening the northern Gulf Coast with heavy rains and possible flooding. The National Hurricane Center reported Bertha's maximum sustained winds increased to 60 mph, with the storm moving slowly north-northwest and tropical storm warnings issued for parts of Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana.
