Tropical Storm Bertha forms on track approaching US Gulf Coast

Tropical Storm Bertha formed in the Gulf of Mexico south of the Florida Panhandle, threatening heavy rain, storm surge, and damaging winds along the US Gulf Coast. The storm is expected to move westward toward Texas, impacting coastal areas in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and potentially causing flash flooding and tornadoes. It is the second tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, following Tropical Storm Arthur.
