Two in five Americans believe stock market only serves the top 1%
Two in five Americans believe the stock market only benefits the top 1%, and 40% incorrectly assume the economy and stock market are the same. Two-thirds also mistakenly believe a growing stock market directly indicates economic growth, according to a Harris Poll survey for the Guardian.
