Tropical depression forecast to become Tropical Storm Bertha: What we know

Tropical Depression Two is forecast to become Tropical Storm Bertha as it moves northwest with 35 mph winds. NOAA and Air Force aircraft will assess the system, which threatens storm surge, tornadoes, heavy rain, and winds along the Gulf Coast from Florida to Louisiana. The Carolinas will avoid direct impacts but may see severe thunderstorms and flooding from a stalled cold front this week.
