5.5 magnitude earthquake hits Peru's Andes region and kills at least 6 people

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck the Andes region of Peru, killing at least six people, injuring over 30, and displacing 300. The quake damaged buildings, including the historic Santiago de León church, and occurred 2 kilometers west-southwest of Sicaya in Huancayo province. Authorities noted the use of rustic adobe materials exacerbated the damage.
