DOJ sues Maryland challenging law awarding in-state tuition to illegal immigrants

The Department of Justice sued Maryland over a law providing in-state tuition and financial assistance to undocumented immigrants, claiming it discriminates against U.S. citizens by diverting educational opportunities and costing taxpayers $9 million annually. The lawsuit is the DOJ’s 13th challenge to similar state laws.
