Colorado's $50M Firehawk helicopters aren't flying the state's largest wildfire. Here's what we know.
Colorado's $50 million Firehawk helicopters have not been deployed to the Aspen Acres Fire, the state's largest wildfire, despite being stationed in Broomfield and Montrose. The aircraft have instead been used on smaller fires like Ferris, Elk, and Gold Mountain. The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control has not explained the lack of deployment.
