NC AG Jackson calls on residents to weigh in on Chemours’ ‘backroom deal’ over PFAS
North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson criticized a $450 million EPA-chemours settlement over PFAS pollution, arguing it excludes North Carolina residents and allocates most funds to other states. The deal, which requires federal court approval, would provide up to $90 million over 15 years for water cleanup projects, but Jackson claims it guarantees nothing for North Carolina. Public comments on the agreement are due by July 29.
