A poll of Michigan Democratic voters in 2026 found strong support for transitioning to a single-payer healthcare system modeled after Medicare. When asked about replacing employer or union-negotiated insurance with a federal system, 66.5% supported the change, while 82.8% supported a general shift to a single-payer model.
