Mahmoud Khalil filed a lawsuit alleging a conspiracy involving the U.S. federal government and private groups like the Heritage Foundation, Canary Mission, and Betar to suppress criticism of Israel through doxing, jailing, and deportation. Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist and legal permanent resident, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2025 and detained for 104 days before a federal judge ordered his release.
