Photovoltaics are still running after a year under Swiss trains
A 100-meter photovoltaic installation on a Swiss railway line, operational since April 2025, has generated over 19 MWh of electricity with no disruptions to train operations. Sun-Ways, the company behind the project, faces regulatory challenges but plans to scale the technology across Europe, aiming for 10,000 km of installations by 2040.
