World Sailing measures the environmental impact of the sport's Olympic equipment for the first time

World Sailing is conducting its first life cycle assessment of Olympic sailing equipment to evaluate environmental impacts from production to disposal. The initiative, led by sustainability director Alexandra Rickham, aims to inform future changes by analyzing materials like carbon fiber and recycling practices, with data collected from boat builders and athletes to guide interventions.
