Mother surrenders newborn to staff at hospital in Indiana using Safe Haven Baby Box
A mother in Indiana safely surrendered her newborn using a Safe Haven Baby Box at Marion General Hospital in June. The baby is now under the care of the Indiana Department of Child Services for adoption. Safe Haven Baby Boxes, founded in 2017 by Monica Kelsey, has facilitated 83 surrenders via Baby Boxes and over 200 through its hotline nationwide.
