Woman mauled by brown bear at her home while letting her dogs out, officials say

A woman in Alaska was mauled by a brown bear on her front deck while letting her dogs out, resulting in serious injuries requiring helicopter transport to an Anchorage hospital. The bear, accompanied by two cubs, had accessed bird feeders in her yard before the attack. Another woman in the house helped scare the bears away and assisted the injured woman indoors.
