Nigeria says army has killed 300 bandits in north-western state of Zamfara

Nigerian soldiers killed over 300 members of kidnapping and cattle bandit gangs in Zamfara's Gummi district during a two-day operation, according to Zamfara’s information commissioner Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa. The gangs, composed of cattle rustlers and jihadists, have long terrorized communities in northern and central Nigeria.
