A person nearly fell victim to a jury duty scam involving a spoofed call from the sheriff's department, which demanded $9,000 to resolve fabricated citations. The scammer provided personal details and directed the victim to a gas station kiosk for a fraudulent payment, but the victim verified the scam with the actual sheriff's office.
