Human remains found in national park decades ago have been identified

Human remains discovered in Olympic National Park in 2000 were identified 24 years later using DNA testing as Joseph Louis Serrao Jr., a man from Hawaii who was reported missing. The remains were found in a tent along the Sol Duc River drainage area, and genetic analysis confirmed his identity through family connections.
