Driver turns self in after killing cyclist in Hialeah hit-and-run, cops say
A 21-year-old man, Leonel Alejandro Laferte, turned himself in to Hialeah police after being accused of killing a cyclist in a hit-and-run crash. The victim, 37-year-old Kenneth William Wimbley, died from injuries sustained when Laferte's 2022 Kia Stinger struck him while his driver's license was suspended. Laferte faces charges of leaving the scene of a fatal crash and driving with a suspended license.
