Ebola spreading into new areas in northeast DR Congo: WHO
The World Health Organization warns that the Ebola outbreak in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo is expanding into new areas and is larger than previously detected, with 676 confirmed cases and 136 deaths. No approved vaccines exist for the Bundibugyo species causing the outbreak, which has spread to Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu provinces, as well as into Uganda.
