Opinion: Ebola outbreak response requires engaging with religious traditions and leaders

Ebola spreads through caregiving acts like tending to sick loved ones and burial practices, but mistrust and fear have led to attacks on healthcare facilities. Engaging religious and traditional leaders, who oversee burial rites and are trusted in communities, is critical to addressing the outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
