Portillo’s is opening a new walk-up location on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, marking a departure from its traditional dine-in format. The chain, founded by Dick Portillo in 1963, offers Chicago-style food and has expanded to over 90 locations nationwide, including a recent airport restaurant in Texas.
