George Ariyoshi, first US governor of Asian American descent, dies aged 100

George R Ariyoshi, Hawaii's former governor and the first Asian American governor in U.S. history, has died at age 100. He led Hawaii from 1973 to 1986 during the Democratic Party's rise to power in the state.
